I got into a bit of a pickle at the neighborhood Memorial Day BBQ. Jungledad was on the volcano (still is, grrrr), so I had to fly solo with the twin-os. I held my own on the parenting front, but wished he was there to save me on the awkward conversation front. All and all, [...]

“They are different people.” That’s what the Pediatrician said to me when I asked why one of my daughters wasn’t able to do something the other could. This was the original Pediatrician; the awesome Pediatrician that ditched the jungle to go practice by a posh ski resort. I don’t blame her but I miss her. [...]

I’ve been looking at my dragonfruit for 5 days, thinking its too pretty to eat. It is, really. It looks more like art than produce. So groovy. I was suckered into buying it at the farmers market. Its not always there, only sometimes, and it looks so insane I’ve always wanted to ask about it- [...]

The twins find it so delicious they feel the need to share it not only their mouths, but their cheeks, foreheads, ears (especially), hands, feet, fontanels, the floor, the cabinets, and the ceiling. I feel like I’m re-living the linguine scene from Baby Boom. Okay, [...]

House guests are a funny thing, and jungle house guests are even funnier. Back in New England my experiences with house guests were mixed, but often resulted with the guest or guests eating all my food and insulting my kitten. House guests are like that. Here in the jungle, its a new set of rules. [...]

Time to Respond

Junglemom is back and ready to respond to all those excellent comments, but first a little story. My husband’s first childhood memories are of metal scrapers being placed in his chubby toddler hands so he could help scrape all the lead paint off the wall. He reckons this lasted at least a few years. That is [...]
